WHERE is used when referring to a place or location. (= I
want to know the place)
Example:
Question: Where do you work?
प्रश्न:
आप कहाँ काम करते हैं?
Answer: I work in a government office.
उत्तर:
मैं सरकारी दफ़्तर में काम करता हूँ ।
Question: From where do you buy the books?
प्रश्न:
आप पुस्तकें कहाँ से खरीदते हैं?
Answer: From Ring Road, Surat.
उत्तर:
रींग रोड, सूरत ।
Question: Where do you live?
प्रश्न:
आप कहाँ रहते हो?
Answer: I live in Ahmedabad.
उत्तर:
मैं अहमदाबाद में रहता हूँ ।
Question: From where did you buy this suit?
प्रश्न:
आपने अपना सूट कहाँ से खरीदा?
Answer: From C. G. Road.
उत्तर:
सी. जी. रोड ।
Question: Where did you go yesterday?
प्रश्न:
आप कल कहाँ गये थे?
Answer: I went to market.
उत्तर:
मैं बाजार गया था ।

- Who और Which इन दोनों के अर्थ के अन्तर को समझिए । Who का अर्थ है कौन और Which का अर्थ है कौन – सा / कौन – सी । Who मनुष्यों के लिए प्रयोग होता है और Which पशुओं तथा बेजान वस्तुओं के लिए प्रयोग होता हैं । इस बात को नीचे दिये गये उदाहरण से अच्छी तरह मन में बैठा लीजिए:

- Who और Which का एक एक अर्थ और भी है – ‘जो’ । नियम वही हैं । मनुष्यों के लिए Who = जो और बेजान । वस्तुओं के लिए Which = जो, जैसे:
मैं उस लड़की से
मिला जो मॉनीटर हैं ।
I
met the girl who is the monitor.
वह लड़की जो पियानो
बजा रही है, मेरी बहन हैं ।
The
girl, who is playing the piano, is my sister.
जो पुस्तक तुम चाहते
हो, चुन लो ।
