WHY is used to obtain an explanation or a reason. (= I want
to know the reason)
Example:
Question: Why do you drink milk daily?
प्रश्न:
आप प्रतिदिन दूध क्यों पीते हैं?
Answer: To maintain good health.
उत्तर:
अपना स्वास्थ्य बनायें रखने के लिए ।
Question: Why is Meena’s teacher so strict?
प्रश्न:
मीना की अध्यापिका इतनी कठोर क्यों हैं?
Answer: Because she is interested in the progress of her
students.
उत्तर:
क्योंकि वह अपनी छात्राओं की उन्नति चाहती हैं ।
Question: Why are you sitting here?
प्रश्न:
तुम यहाँ क्यों बैठे हो?
Answer: I am waiting for my friend Mitesh.
उत्तर:
मैं अपने मित्र मितेष की प्रतीक्षा कर रहा हूँ ।
Question: Why is Trisha crying?
प्रश्न:
त्रीशा क्यों रो रही हैं?
Answer: Because Tina beat her.
उत्तर:
क्योंकि टीना ने उस को मारा ।

- Who और Which इन दोनों के अर्थ के अन्तर को समझिए । Who का अर्थ है कौन और Which का अर्थ है कौन – सा / कौन – सी । Who मनुष्यों के लिए प्रयोग होता है और Which पशुओं तथा बेजान वस्तुओं के लिए प्रयोग होता हैं । इस बात को नीचे दिये गये उदाहरण से अच्छी तरह मन में बैठा लीजिए:

- Who और Which का एक एक अर्थ और भी है – ‘जो’ । नियम वही हैं । मनुष्यों के लिए Who = जो और बेजान । वस्तुओं के लिए Which = जो, जैसे:
मैं उस लड़की से
मिला जो मॉनीटर हैं ।

met the girl who is the monitor.
वह लड़की जो पियानो
बजा रही है, मेरी बहन हैं ।
The
girl, who is playing the piano, is my sister.
